Hello Again

Slow or no internet has seen me MIA this last month or so. I am thankful I have seen several of you and have been able to catch up by other means i.e my favourite mode of catching up..in person :). T and I are currently moochdocking at a friends house in North Texas enjoying catching up and hopefully helping them with some small projects weather permitting. Yesterday we had an eventful weather day with strong thunderstorms rolling in one after another. I was thankful we had a converted shipping container with a comfy couch we could take refuge in as hard rain poured down outside. (I must admit I had no desires to go dancing in my wellies this time ). Thankfully we were spared large hail and strong winds, but know other areas were not as fortunate.

Since I last wrote T and I have both battled a bout of what we think could have been Covid, T graduated from RV tech school, we moved 2 1/2 hours North West to a Christian camp and reconnected with some good friends and met new ones. While at the camp I worked on improving my painting skills refreshing interior and exterior doors of two cabins while T worked on demolishing the inside of another cabin. Thanks to the generosity and hospitality of the camp we were included in two staff trips. We attended The Promise a local well done passion play in Glen Rose Texas and experienced a firework competition where we got to see amateur and professional pyrotechnics show off their creative skills. We had no idea there was such a thing as firework competitions, but there are several that take place every year. We also made a quick trip to the Oklahoma City area to see family and catch up with a few friends. It has been a full and good month for us.

Today is election day in the US and there is much anxiety surrounding what the outcome will be. I am still not a citizen so have had to sit out another election cycle. I try not to be too hard on myself, but wish I had started the process a few years ago while we were stationary for a few years in Oklahoma. Being on the road makes it more challenging, but in the next year we will have to find a place to call a home base so I can apply and start the process. I have tried not to get caught up with everything that has been going on in this country. At times it has been challenging as everywhere I would turn I would see something negative more than positive. It was refreshing to attend the firework competition because there I experienced the US I remember when first moving here. People seemed to have respect for their country and those that have served in the military. There was a sense of American pride and people enjoying their freedom spending time with family and friends. I hope moving forward this country can come together again. As a mother that raised two children here that now have their own families I pray things are going to get better not worse. I have been reminded several times just this week that whatever happens God is still on the throne and in control. I know He is and that is where I have to put my focus. I pray we will continue to go to His word to find and confirm the truth. This world is crazy. I am going to sign off with a few of my favourite scriptures that I read regularly. I pray these reminders from Gods word will give you a peace like they do me.

 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”- Philippians 4: 4-9
