You know sometimes moments in life, whether it is taking in a beautiful sunset, hearing the joyous sound of birds singing, spending time with a special loved one/ones cannot be fully captured in pictures or by retelling events that happened. Sometimes you just have to take it all in, appreciate the memories and just live in that moment. I feel like that describes our last week and first week in Tennessee. Reconnecting with old friends and spending time with their family was special to T and I. We didn’t stay in the quietest of places of a state park between our visits and the weather didn’t always cooperate (there was a lot of rain) but T finally has his pain managed and I slept pretty soundly for a change, so throughout our days in northern Tennessee we felt fully present. Many good conversations were had, memories replayed and yes pictures taken, but I will say not by me, but I am thankful that we do have some to share and remember. Later on, at the end of last week T and I found ourselves with no WIFI, no phone service and two phones that were pretty useless to us. We traveled on Saturday thankfully using our RV app which T had already downloaded maps on to. We normally use google maps to recheck our route and to have an updated traffic pattern and also know how the weather is looking in the area we are going to. We didn’t have information on the latter and found ourselves fully leaning in to trusting God with our journey. We made it safely late afternoon with some what of a traffic build up going by downtown Nashville, and we had stayed ahead of most of the rain! Our journey that day had me pondering on where I put my trust when we are travelling. I’m going to be honest about something, I actually enjoyed not having phone communication for 24 hours. T and I had been seeking peaceful surroundings our 5 weeks off and funnily enough never quite found the peace we were looking for. Those 24 hours we were given were peaceful because I wasn’t distracted by the craziness of the world as I couldn’t access it! Next time I am given an opportunity to unplug I plan to embrace it more fully.
What’s something you have all learned /experienced this week? I would love to hear about it however big or small.
Love to each of you- Lou
