This month we were blessed with so many water views! T and I don’t normally choose the projects we do just because of the location. A lot of the time we don’t even know what is in the area until we get there and then I start researching. Growing up around water with the River Deben literally across the rail track and the North Sea a short drive away I didn’t realise how much I would miss those views and the close proximity of it all when I moved stateside. Over the years I have adjusted to new scenery and have come to appreciate miles and miles of farm land and mountain views, but there is still something about sitting on the beach and hearing the waves rolling in or walking along the banks of a peaceful river. I don’t think that will ever get old for me. T and I have also revisited our dream of travelling the Great Loop while watching numerous boats travel by us on the Intercoastal Waterways. That is what we were considering before purchasing our RV and embarking on full time travel. Who knows maybe one day we will still live out that dream 😊.
Our time in this area is coming to an end. We will be travelling again on Thursday to a new location with familiar and new faces. We haven’t just enjoyed the scenery here, the people on and off the project have been very friendly. We have eaten too much, especially local ice cream, but still need to eat some fresh local fish. We hope to take care of that matter tomorrow. Our work here has seen us mainly outside painting and fixing equipment or door locks. T as I write is with the maintenance guy this afternoon hopefully guiding him through a door lock issue. T likes to take on a challenge and this month has definitely seen him coming home mentally tired trying to figure out lock mechanisms and thankfully winning. He has learned a lot and now can take his new skill with him. My painting skills are getting better. I helped repaint and stencil a hopscotch on the playground ( I wasn’t able to upload picture). I must admit I was frustrated at times but we had a wonderful Lady Leader this month that was a huge encourager that kept me going when I wanted to give up. Our group this month really used the SOWER song book and we sang one or two hymns every time we gathered for devotionals. I learned many new songs and revisited some old ones during this precious time together. I am going to let some of our pictures tell the rest of the story for this month. Please continue to pray for us as we seek wisdom and guidance as we plan out the rest of our year especially our one or two months in Oklahoma. On a side note, has anyone tried Oolong Tea? It’s my new favourite. Less caffeine than black tea and slightly more than green tea. I normally drink it plain because it really doesn’t need anything else. Also I am needing ideas on ways to get more protein in to this body of mine. Some testing I had done shows I need more in my diet. Thanks so much.
Love to each of you reading. – Lou
