This past week saw T and I taking some time off and really not doing much of anything for the most of it. That’s so unlike us, but we both were feeling a bit under the weather for a majority of it. We mainly focused on taking care of each other, played lots of games of Rummikub and Quirkle as those are great two person games, read, I coloured scripture which I hadn’t done in a while and took lots of walks around the camp when the staff and guests were gone. We were able to take a couple of days and go visit T’s friend near Tampa again and acted like tourists in the town of Tarpon Springs which is called “The Sponge Capital of the World” Tarpon Springs is also heavily influenced by Greece with many Greek restaurants, bakeries and streets actually named in Greek with the English underneath. It was a cool place to visit. I wish we had had more time, but did get to browse several shops, get some ideas of what to do with all the shells we collected during our beach visits last month, have lunch, buy some naughty Greek cakes and pastries and visit a small Catholic church. T also fixed some things back at his friends house, like he does while we visited. On the way home we stopped at a lovely new park in Lakeland Florida called Bonnet Springs. If you find yourself in the area, check this place out. It had a beautiful boardwalk and a canopy walk that unfortunately wasn’t doggy friendly so we had to skip that, but there was so much open space and shade under huge trees it was worth the stop.
Today we have been packing up as we head out tomorrow to start our travels northwest to our final project in Florida before heading to Oklahoma. We will be stopping at a campground to have our vehicle and truck weighed as we are curious if our overall load is balanced and what we may need to off load or get rid of to continue travelling. We would appreciate your prayers as always as we travel. It was great to check in with several of you guys yesterday for Easter Sunday. T and I are thankful for each of you and your continued friendship and support on this journey. Until next time- Lou
