In A Season of Change

Posted on March 2, 2026 by Lou

Just like the seasons, things are shifting and changing with us. Can we tell you exactly what that looks like…I wish we could, but for now its a straight up no! We do know that God has a purpose and a plan for everything that has happened the last four years with us living full time in an RV. We are so glad He led us to be involved in an RV ministry, the places we have visited, the different camps and Christian organizations that have welcomed us and the personal lessons/growth we have experienced in ourselves and our marriage because of the RV lifestyle. We have definitely had challenging moments where our little space has seemed even smaller when conflict has arisen between us, but it has forced us to tackle those challenges head on, because honestly where else can one go? T’s back after hurting it over a year ago is still bothering him with some days being better than others, so we do know that Drs appointments needed to be set and taken care of. After serving in Louisiana the month of March we will be heading back to Texas for a few weeks and then on to Oklahoma with no plans after that at this time. Much will depend on doctors appointments and how things go. I think all of you that read my blog know this already, but we are also going to be welcoming a new grandbaby, a little girl near the end of August in Texas. We excited about this news and that does factor in to some of the possible changes. T and I didn’t really have a plan when we went on the road except that we knew we needed our own space and had found a way to work camp those first six months to off set costs. We thought by now we would have a home base and still be travelling, but not full time. We have had to take a moment to reflect. We are in a season of trying to take time to really listen to each others wants and needs while trusting that God ultimately guides our steps {Proverbs 16:9}.

We have much we need to take care of in Oklahoma with a storage container still full of stuff, as well as family to assist with different things. I ask for prayer for our time there as we attend more Drs appointments, spend time with family and friends and go through the storage container. I also ask for peace in my heart and mind as we will funnily enough be there during storm season my least favorite part of the year! It seems the more I try and run from that time of year the more I find myself in a location that experiences crazy weather anyways.

Below I have chosen some pictures to help summarize our last few months T and I are off social media for Lent so this is the only way we will be communicating online for a while. I’m hoping that this month we will have decent internet so I can check in at least once while we are in Louisiana. T and I are doing a 52 week walk through the bible study which we are enjoying doing together and I have taken up doing some free classes through the Bible Project on the Hebrew Bible to help me not fill my time off social media with a different type of scrolling. Day one was a struggle so I had to take my Instagram icon and put it where I couldn’t see it to access it. That seems to have worked and I am hoping I will start practicing new healthier habits moving forward.

As always I hope this blog post finds you all well. Thankful for each of you- Lou

Christmas saw us south of Houston helping with the Christmas train and reconnecting with old friends.
Volunteers got to take the last ride of the night. We did this a couple of times.
We got to hang out with “Buddy the Elf” and Santa’s helpers.
Judy and I having some silly fun.
We interacted with a large number of the public those three to four weeks. Our hours were very different to what we are accustomed to. I enjoyed it more than T. He definitely prefers the construction/maintenance aspect of our work when serving.
The guys did get to construct a shelter for Joseph and Mary which they seemed to enjoy.
Our visit to Pearland to walk Copper introduced us to decorated pears throughout their town.
We had an opportunity to meet up with another RV couple on their way to take a cruise over Christmas. I love when we get to meet up with those that we have met along the way that we don’t see very often.
We spent Christmas at the beach.!
Driving on the beach sometimes has its perks.
Water views never get old and still quieten my soul.
Of course Christmas isnt Christmas without wearing the standard Christmas Cracker crown.
January saw us doing something very different. This is one of the few pictures we took. There are no group pictures or pictures of those we were serving. January was cold!
At our February project in Sam Houston National Forest.
Our location in February. So quiet and peaceful in the PIney woods.
Here is another view.
The camp.
Painting was on the agenda for the women this month.
We painted the inside of two, two story buildings and a worship area.
Of course we took a candid photo op or two when a birthday came along.
The men were tasked with helping build an archery and axe throwing pavilion.
Mixing concrete needed all hands on deck!
Archery pavilion
Axe throwing
All the men had to give the axe throwing a go once it was constructed.
Valentines dinner
One of many game nights
One of the views while taking a walk with Copper and my new friend Angela with her pooch.
Some sightseeing is always required. A mural in downtown Huntsville.
The statue of Sam Houston is huge!!
A few nights we got to sit outside with a campfire with food, songs and a video. This was the sky view from our chairs.
