A certain song has been on my heart the last few days and then I was reminded of the lyrics again this morning while reading my devotional. Psalm 139:7-10 says:
“Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings on the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”
Further on the same Psalm says in verses 13-16
” For you created my innermost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
As we await the arrival of more grandbabies I find myself pondering on verses 13-16 and marvelling in the miracle of life and then going back to verses 7-10 and knowing that wherever we are in our relationship with God he has us in the palm of His hand. He completely knows us and loves us unconditionally. My bible has a little commentary on Psalm 139 titled “Our All Knowing God” God is constantly thinking about us and is committed to searching our hearts and revealing to us “any offensive way” (Psalm 139:24).and wants to lead us “in the way everlasting”. I am so thankful God encourages me to be better and convicts me of “any offensive way” The condition of my heart is not always pretty. How about you friend? Love to each of you- Lou
