Oh Baby!

Posted on September 16, 2026September 16, 2026 by Lou

This past month saw the much anticipated arrival of my first biological grandchild. E came into the world near the end of August and has already stolen our hearts. N has a funny name for her, “the milk monster” which is the personality she turns into when she is hungry and then returns to her sweet calm self when she has been fed. E is very curious of the world around her, seems to love music, is very strong and already has daddy wrapped around her fingers and toes. My other son C also got to come in for a few days to meet his niece and that was a joy to watch as both boys held E and spent time talking, sharing advice and stories with each other. My mamas heart was happy. As I was holding E the first full day we were visiting, a song kept playing through my head and I found myself singing it aloud to her. In that moment, like the words go I was just so grateful and thankful to God for the gift of life that was snuggled up in my arms. The song is one that her Mommy and Daddy sing at their church. I didn’t realise that N had been singing the same song while he was upstairs with E, but it seemed like it was a song E recognised and comforted her. I took in every sigh, hiccup, little sneeze whilst holding her until my menopausal self couldn’t take the heat we were both generating and I begrudgingly had to put her down.

Another grandbaby is on the way in October. Baby C is quite big already and has several more weeks before he is supposed to make an appearance. He is projected to be on the 97% line for weight so Y is very uncomfortable and ready. Please pray for her and C as they anticipate Baby C’s arrival. T and I are in the process of finding and purchasing a different RV, something we can drive rather than tow, to make our way to Ohio soon to be with C and Y before Baby C is born. Our Brinkley has been listed on FB. We are not on FB so our friends are posting the information for us on marketplace. We would love it if anyone reading this would help get the word out we are selling our home on wheels. We would love to see it go to a family/couple that will enjoy travelling in it as much as we have.

Here is the song that was going through my mind while holding little E .
