Remember to get Moving

Posted on January 15, 2024 by Lou

Hi friends and family. As we continue to experience very wet and sometimes stormy weather conditions here in Florida I know many of you are dealing with sub zero temperatures, snow and just plain yuck yourself! Copper and I normally take a walk after I finish work every day. I really do love having a dog as it encourages me to get outside for some much needed Vitamin D and an opportunity to move. It also helps how I feel mentally. The weather we have been having recently has not encouraged me to move but hunker under a blanket and scroll mindlessly on my phone! I am not sure how many more days we are going to have this crazy weather so today I had to take a stand, a commitment that regardless of what the weather is like outside I need to move, so I revisited some walking videos I used to do in the heat of the summer. For now I have done one 15 minute video which equals a 1 mile walk but I already feel better. The lady instructor doesn’t just take me on a walk, but she gets my whole body moving encouraging movements to the side, forward and back, knee raises, standing body crunches and several movements crossing midline. I am not just moving my body, but challenging my brain as well. I love that I don’t need much room, so its a great choice for our little RV space. I want to encourage you where ever you find yourself today that you will take some time to move. Get up and walk away from your desk, put some music on and dance in your living room with your kids, find an exercise video on one of the different platforms/apps available to us these days. Don’t let this weather get you down and just move!

Love Lou
