Tomorrow is my birthday and its hard to believe my year of being 50 stretching and kicking is nearly over! I am praying that this year will see T and I making some important decisions and finally finding a place to call “home” again.
January saw us dealing with very cold temperatures in the Texas Hill Country with need of using a heated water hose and even turning on our furnace for extra heat which we have never done before. Usually our two electric heaters and our fireplace are enough to take the edge off the chill, but not this time as temperatures went below freezing into the teens. We had another great group to work with this month including a new couple to our organization. The weather limited us somewhat with our extra curricular activities outside of work hours, nevertheless we still found ways to congregate to eat, play games and did I say eat? lol. We have been in this area of Texas since the end of November so it will be bitter sweet to move on Friday to a place closer to Austin. We have really established some friendships here and have had a sense of community with Wednesday night gatherings at The Core and attending a local church regularly.
I have made a couple more loaves of sourdough bread since my last blog post. I am finding my loaves are still a little dense, but tasty. My social media feed is full of helpful tips on how I can perfect my loaf so I will keep trying until I find what works within our small space and using a RV oven. I do find it fun and the kneading of the dough can be a great stress reliever! I have not had a chance to dabble further with formulating but still have some ingredients I need to use before they expire. I just need a new recipe and product to try making. Any ideas on what it should be?
As you think of us and lift up our journey and ministry in pray please consider praying for T. He hurt his back a month ago and even with a few chiropractic appointments and a massage yesterday he is still getting some pain. He can definitely move around better which we are thankful for, but doesn’t feel he is completely healed. We believe it just needs time which means T slowing down and listening to his body. Any of you that know T knows how hard this can be for him. Pray for me too as I try and keep him reined in!! lol
Until next time love to you all- Lou
P.s This particular blog post was written and put together over several days so time frame is a little off ;).
